Drywall Does Not Meet Floor

I am trying to figure out whether how to air seal the gap between my garage floor and drywall in my 12 year old three story townhouse in zone 2a.

Gaps where the wall and floor meet. Use a drywall knife to fill the large gaps with ready mixed joint. You ll find 54 in wide drywall at drywall suppliers or you can special order it from most home centers and lumberyards. Tall consider ordering special 54 in wide sheets of drywall to avoid an extra horizontal joint.

I think caulk any particular kind is the answer but wanted to check first. If the walls you re planning to drywall are between 8 ft. This joint needs to be flush and smooth in order for the tile or other wall covering to be installed correctly and to create a professional finished appearance. Make sure any insulating work and vapor barrier installation are complete before you begin hanging drywall panels.

At some point along the wall the cement backer board will meet with the drywall used in the rest of the room.
